Two Arrested for Alleged Monmouth Boulevard Shooting, Robbery
Galesburg police say two teenagers are in custody following what is believed to be the second shooting in about a week's time -- one they found after they believed they were looking for a car accident.

Police officials say officers were called to what was first referred to as a vehicle accident in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 1520 Monmouth Boulevard around 5:45 Thursday morning.

They found an abandoned vehicle in the parking lot. And, officials say, when they figured out it belonged to 22-year old Jordan Allen, they went to his apartment and found him -- the victim of an apparent gunshot wound that occurred while he was still believed to be in his car.

Allen was taken to Galesburg Cottage Hospital and later to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where he's listed in stable condition.

Police arrested 17-year old Devonte Parker of another apartment in that same complex, along with 17-year old Tyrone Haywood of Galesburg. Both are charged with Aggravated Robbery. Parker faces charges of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Haywood faces similar charges under an accountability statute.

The two are in the Knox County Jail pending court appearances. Officials say this shooting and the fatal shooting at Kiwanis Park last week are not related.
