Facebook Posting Reunites IL Woman With Parrot
BARRINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- An Illinois woman has been reunited with her missing pet parrot thanks to the power of social media.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald reports the colorful parrot named Kasha flew into Ralph Ostrom's assisted living home in Barrington through a kitchen window.

Ostrom and his assisted living community say they contacted several enforcement agencies to find Kasha's owner. But it was a Facebook posting that unraveled the case.

The executive director at the assisted living home was perusing Facebook when he saw a friend's posting of a flier about a missing parrot. Kasha's owner Lida Dobina and her boyfriend had posted the flier around their Lake Zurich community.

Dobina and Kasha have finally reunited. Officials at the assisted living home called it a team effort.
