Police Investigate Car Thefts on City's Northwest Side
Authorities are investigating a string of car burglaries on the city's northwest side that includes the thefts of navigation devices.

Galesburg Police reports indicate homes on Dayton Drive and West Dayton Street were allegedly burglarized either late Sunday or early Monday morning. Police say several vehicles were tampered with, and all but one resident reported a GPS missing. They say one victim's glove box was only rummaged through but no items were missing or damaged.

Four GPS's in all were reported stolen Monday. Police say each vehicle was unlocked at the time of the suspected thefts.

Another home on Dayton Drive, police say, had their garage broken into overnight Saturday. Records show the thieves entered through a window and took off with multiple liquor bottles from a refrigerator.

Police have located no suspects at this time. If you have any information regarding any of these thefts please contact the Galesburg Police Department or call the Galesburg-Area Crimestoppers hot-line.
