Bond Raised for Galesburg Woman Accused of Hitting Underpass While Drunk
A Galesburg woman arrested last week for driving under the influence and allegedly hitting a downtown underpass saw her bond raised in a separate case Wednesday.

According to Knox County Circuit Court records, 35-year-old Christie Bramlett is now jailed on $50,000 bond. Judge Scott Shipplett issued the increase on two meth-related charges filed against Bramlett in January.

A police report indicates Bramlett left her damaged convertible where a train was passing in the area of North Seminary and East North Street last Wednesday around midnight. Police say she was drunk, and suspect she drove into the East South and South Seminary Street underpass moments before fleeing her vehicle at the railroad crossing.

Because Bramlett had already been charged with two counts of Unlawful Procurement of Meth Prescursors, prosecutors filed for Wednesday's hearing to modify bail. She must now pay 10-percent, or $5,000, to be released from Knox County Jail.

Court documents show Bramlett is to next appear in court August 6th for a Pre-Trial Conference.
