One Arrested, Another Still Wanted in Weekend Assault
Police have made one arrest in a suspected assault of two women over the weekend in the area of a Washington Avenue home.

A Galesburg police report indicates 19-year-old Unree Moultrie was arrested Sunday night on two counts each of Aggravated Battery and Mob Action. 21-year-old William McClendon remains wanted on identical charges.

Police suspect Moultrie and McClendon appeared at a home in the 19-hundred block of Washington avenue just after 7:30 Saturday night. They confronted the resident over a stolen laptop computer.

Police allege McClendon dragged the resident's 19-year-old sister down the front porch stairs. The victim reportedly suffered head injuries-- with police saying blood was splattered on both her shirt and sidewalk.

A 31-year-old woman, police say, then yelled from a nearby residence on Indiana Ave-- telling Moultrie and McClendon they shouldn't be hitting a female. Records show Moultrie then ran over to her and allegedly threw her to the ground before choking her. That victim sustained only minor injuries.

Moultrie and McClendon fled in a vehicle later recovered by authorities Saturday evening. Moultrie's arrest Sunday came at a Monmouth Boulevard home. He was wearing blue jean shorts that police say was stained with blood.

MoultrIe is jailed on $50,000-dollars bond and is scheduled to first appear with Public Defender James Harrell on August 3rd.
