Extradited Man Pleads Not Guilty to Knox County
After a drug conviction earlier this month in Lasalle County, a 25-year-old man is now seeking a jury trial on sex charges in Knox County.

According to court documents, Gabriel Mora pleaded not guilty to felony charges of Home Invasion, Criminal Trespassing, and Criminal Sexual Abuse Wednesday.

He's accused of going into a Galesburg woman's apartment in September of 2011 with the intent to sexually assault her. The victim tried stabbing him, and Mora allegedly tied her up in a closet afterward.

Mora was brought to Knox County earlier this month after being convicted on cocaine possession in Ottawa. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Another charge of sexual assault was dropped in that particular case.

Knox County Circuit Judge James Stewart waived Wednesday Mora's right to a Preliminary Hearing. Records indicate he's to appear with his Joliet lawyer for a Pre-Trial Conference October first.

Mora is being held at the Knox County Jail on $1-million dollars bond.
