Health Department Rolling Out New Campaign
If you haven't seen images of a new health campaign to impact the county this spring, it won't be long before you do.

The Knox County Health Department is sponsoring a coalition called "We Fit Together." It's promotional logo features four puzzle pieces fitting together to symbolize the separate areas health officials hope to address.

Those sections include Healthy Living, Building Community, Physical Activity, and Family Fun. Health Department Administrator Heidi Britton says the Illinois Public Health Institute is marketing the effort.

"They are going to start a media campaign, a web-site, and they're currently recruiting more community members and organizations," Britton said. "And we have the rights to take some commercials and advertisements from CDC that are available to us. We're going to use them on billboards, as radio ads, and television ads over the next twelve months."

CDC is the Center for Disease and Control. The web-site is active, and already is equipped with simple recipes, diets, and workouts to try-- it's 'wefittogether.org.' A Twitter handle has been developed too: it's '@KCwefit.'

Britton says the coalition runs through the year 2018.
