Lakeside Pool Chairs Go for a Swim
There wasn't much room to swim at the Lakeside Recreation Pool first thing Thursday morning.

That's because all the pool chairs and life guard stands had been tossed into the water sometime during the overnight hours.

Galesburg police say an employee discovered the vandalism when he arrived to prepare the pools for the day at 6am.

According to a police report, three pool chairs and the swimming markers sustained damage estimated at $1,100-dollars.

There are no suspects at this time, and police ask that you contact them if you have any further details on this incident.

This is the second act of mischief at Lake Storey over the last two weeks. Early last week, vandals attempted to burglarize the Lake Storey Pavilion and unchain the paddle boats. They were able tosuccessfully untie a canoe and several other boats-- which floated all the way to the west boat dock.

Police again say they plan to dispatch more evening and overnight patrols to the area.
