More Details Released in Mercer County House Explosion
A gun may have been involved in the deaths of two Mercer County residents found in their home following a fire and explosion Thursday afternoon.

That's according to the Mercer County Coroner. Ron McNall told Quad Cities television station WHBF Saturday that the victims have been identified as 40-year old Patricia Lindquist and 53-year old Timothy Meade.

The two were found dead inside Lindquist's home on 200th Street in rural Aledo before 4pm Thursday, after sheriffs deputies went there to conduct a well-being check. They discovered the house to be on fire, and that it quickly became fully engulfed in flames.

McNall told WHBF that a gun was involved in the deaths, and that the fire may have been arson. Officials, however, have not released any more details into the deaths.

The Mercer County Sheriffs Department is continuing an investigation into the deaths, aided by an Illinois State Police Crime Scene technician.
