Guilty Plea in Concession Stand Break-ins
A Galesburg man has pleaded guilty to one of three charges he faced for allegedly helping to cause a pair of break-ins to local athletic complexes two years ago.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 20-year old Malcolm Coon made the plea Friday to a single misdemeanor charge of theft.

A misdemeanor charge of Criminal Damage to Property, and a Class-Two Felony charge of Burglary were dismissed in exchange for the plea by Judge James Stewart.

Coon, 20-year old Seanlier Morrow, and 20-year old Matthew Hunziker were arrested late last year after the Knox County Sheriffs Department said they were responsible.

Authorities believed they broke into the ROWVA High School concession stand in May of 2010, and also may have broken into the I-74 Sports Complex outside Knoxville.

Analysis by the State Police Crime Lab connected the three to the crimes.

Coon will serve 30 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for six already served.

Hunziker pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge as well, and is also serving about a month in jail.

Morrow still faces felony burglary and theft charges along with a misdemeanor criminal damage charge, and is scheduled to be in court Wednesday afternoon for a status hearing.
