Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Stronghurst Man
An area man died, and a woman was hurt in a motorcycle crash earlier this week.

Henderson County authorities say 29-year old Brian Hetrick of Stronghurst was riding with 20-year old Alexsha Alexander of Roseville around 8:15 Sunday morning when the accident happened between Dallas City and Lomax on Illinois Route 96 westbound .

Alexander reportedly told police Hetrick swerved to avoid an animal in the road, sending the motorcycle into a ditch and throwing the two riders off.

Authorities say Hetrick died at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Alexander reportedly suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

Police say neither Hetrick or Alexander were wearing a helmet, and the crash investigation continues.
