Several Wanted for Alleged Armed Home Invasion
Galesburg police are seeking at least five men who a woman and her son say busted into their home armed with guns.

Police reports say officers were called by a woman who said a battery had occurred and shots were fired at 890 Liberty Street around 4:40 a-m Sunday. The woman who called for help told police six to seven black males armed with guns forced their way into her home after her son, identified as 20-year old Michael Dillon, who lives at the Liberty Street residence, said he'd been jumped by several black males near 569 West First Street.

Officers arrested Dillon as they spoke with him and his mother inside the home. Authorities say they saw a Hi-Point 9 millimeter rifle under a bed allegedly belonging to Dillon, who's facing a preliminary charge of possession of a firearm with no FOID card.

The woman says she was struck in the face and pushed as the suspects forced their way into her home and caused damage; including at least three bullet holes, broken glass and a door. Police say the woman identified the men being sought by police through photo line-ups, and five individuals are wanted for home invasion, criminal damage to property and mob action. Two of the five men face an additional felony count.

No serious injuries were reported.
