Chicago Man Killed at Galesburg Bar; Suspect Arrested
A Chicago man is dead after being shot in the head at a Galesburg tavern, and police say the alleged triggerman is in custody.

Galesburg Police say investigators and rescue crews were called to Andrews Lounge on West Brooks Street around 1:55 Saturday morning; and when they got there, they say patrons were giving aid to 29-year old Deriek Lawless after he was allegedly shot in the head.

Lawless was transported to Galesburg Cottage Hospital, where he died from those injuries about a half-hour later.

Police say investigators conducted a search on a West Second Street home and as a result of it, arrested 32-year old Marlon Brown on charges of Murder, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Brown is being held in the Knox County Jail.

Police say they're continuing to investigate the shooting, and want anyone who might have information on the homicide to call Galesburg Police at 343-9151, or the Galesburg-Area CrimeStoppers hotline at 344-0044 or 1-888-266-0044.

It's at least the second shooting this year at Andrew's Lounge, and the second in recent memory that has resulted in a death.
