Meth-Making Ingredients Allegedly Found in Car
Galesburg Police aren't necessarily calling what they found in a vehicle Wednesday night a "mobile methamphetamine lab," but they do say what they found has landed two people under arrest.

Police reports indicate officers were following a vehicle travelling near Main and Academy Streets around 20 minutes after nine Wednesday night, and after noticing headlights weren't being used and a passenger wasn't wearing a seat belt, the vehicle was pulled over near Main and Cedar. Police say the passenger in the vehicle, 36-year old Kent Pederson, fled the vehicle but was arrested two blocks away after a brief foot chase.

Investigators searching the vehicle say they found a B.B. gun, electrical tape, cannabis, a tube, and a cooking bowl all in the car's back seat -- while cold pills typically used in methamphetamine manufacturing were allegedly found in the car's trunk, along with lithium batteries, hoses believed to be used to steal anhydrous ammonia, and other items.

Police say Pederson faces preliminary charges of Resisting a Peace Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors.

The vehicle's driver, 30-year old Ronald Johnson Junior, faces preliminary charges of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Possession of Meth Precursors, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Cannabis, Driving Without Headlights, and was found to be wanted on a Knox County Warrant.

The two are believed to be awaiting court appearances.
