OSF Cuts Ribbon on Galesburg Office Expansion
Officials at one of Galesburg's top employers have officially opened an addition to their facilities -- one that they say has a lot of positives, and a lot of divine intervention.

OSF Saint Mary Medical Center Thursday cut a ribbon on, and blessed, the over $6 million expansion of its Galesburg Medical Group office. It allowed for added space for the doctors who practice there, gave the hospital's Occupational Health Services a new home, and also provided space for a new Outpatient Medical Imaging Department.

Just as important as that, Saint Mary's Vice President David Adcock says all the work involved local businesses. "We really appreciate that opportunity to invest back in our community," Adcock said, "not just for the health care, but working with our local distributors, vendors, and contractors. I think it's really important in Galesburg in these economic times."

Adcock says what's more, the construction project that took nearly one year to complete was done early, and, he says, under budget.

The newly-expanded OSF Medical Group Galesburg office has, among other things, 45 rooms for exams, a larger waiting area, more parking, and even has room for more physicians.

EXPANSION FACTS
* 45 exam rooms
* 5 procedure rooms
* Separate waiting and registration areas with dedicated entrances for each service
* 3,000 square feet of waiting area
* Allows capacity for additional physicians
* 160 new parking spaces
* Outpatient CT, Digital Mammography, X-Ray
