Knox County Property Tax Payments Due Wednesday
Local officials say as long as you're sitting back relaxing on this Labor Day holiday, you might want to get out your checkbook and pay just one bill.

Knox County Treasurer Robin Davis says Wednesday is the deadline for your second installment of property taxes to be paid. Davis says property tax bills can be paid in the treasurer's office at the Knox County Courthouse until 5:30pm Wednesday, meaning her office will be open later that day in order to accomodate those paying last minute. She says payments can be mailed, but they must be postmarked on or before September 3rd in order to avoid a late penalty.

Davis says other ways to avoid that late penalty include dropping the payment off in the drop boxes on the courthouse grounds before 8:30am on Thursday.

Payments can also be made at all Knox County banks, online by CLICKING HERE, and over the phone by calling 1-866-455-3729. She says online and phone payments must be made by midnight Wednesday night.

Davis says anyone with questions can call her office at 345-3811.
