State Needs to Do More for Technology
When a survey of successful e-government ranked Illinois 38th, the Illinois Technology Partnership decided that it was time everyone put their heads, and gadgets, together.

Partnership interim director Lindsay Mosher says the Brookings Institution's survey on e-government made it clear that Illinois must do more to use technology. So she has decided to ask for suggestions that will help citizens, make it easier for state employees to get their jobs done, and save money for taxpayers.

Mosher says the Web sites of most of Illinois’ neighboring states are more robust, and more helpful to citizens. She says that if you have an idea, go to the organization's Web site by CLICKING HERE, and find the headline about saving state government money with technology. She has already received ideas about using live chat and mobile access, but wants more ideas before contacting state government officials.

The Brookings Institution’s report can be found by CLICKING HERE (pdf document).
