Governor Quinn Gears Up for 2010 Election At Fair
Not only is this Gov. Pat Quinn's first Illinois State Fair as governor, it's his big chance to woo Democrats as he gears up for the 2010 election. Wednesday is Governor's Day at the fair, and Quinn will give a speech before hundreds of Democrats - including Democratic Comptroller Dan Hynes - that will help shape the campaign season.

Quinn says he thinks people will look back on former Gov. Rod Blagojevich and see Quinn as a drastic improvement over what he describes as chaos combined with corruption. He touted the state's $31 billion building and construction program that'll spur jobs as proof that he's moving the state forward.

Quinn keeps getting questions about when he'll sign ethics legislation. He's not saying when he'll sign or use his amendatory veto, but says it'll be before the last day to act. He's still not saying exactly how he wants to change the legislation.
