Show of Solidarity Believed to be Planned for Galesburg School Board Meeting
It's not been confirmed, but there could be a few more people at Monday night's meeting of the Galesburg School Board than normal.

Anonymous sources tell WGIL that members of the district's teachers union have been asked to show up at Monday's meeting and wear white in a show of solidarity.

The District-205 board meeting was delayed from last week to this week due to scheduling conflicts among board members. And coincidentally, it's being held a day before a second round of talks between the Galesburg Education Association, the district's negotiating team, and a federal mediator.

Last Tuesday's talks lasted nine and a half hours, and resulted in a joint statement in the evening hours announcing the second round of talks, and that a G.E.A. meeting scheduled for last week would be postponed until this Wednesday.

Negotiating matters are scheduled to be a part of a closed session at the end of Monday night's Galesburg School Board meeting.

The District-205 board Monday night will approve a vendor for its newly-created random drug testing program, and they'll consider changes to the district's policy for investments.

The meeting starts at seven o'clock at Lincoln School.
