Gubernatorial Candidate Speaks in Monmouth; Seeks "Meaningful Change"
Republican supporters from across the area gathered in Warren County to support who they hope will be the next Governor in the State of Illinois.

A number of people came out to the 2nd Annual Reagan Day Dinner held Sunday at the Monmouth American Legion to hear from 44th District State Senator and Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady.

Brady says he has seen some great things as well as some of the difficulties of politics at the state level. Brady told those gathered at the Legion, that Illinois is facing, what he calls, a devastating situation.

"Record deficits and debt, corruption, a Chicago style of a political environment running rampant through the state. If we don't do something to change this, the state is going to continue to move on a downward spiral."

Brady says he is for challenging state government, ending regulatory hassles so businesses can come to the state and grow, reinvesting money from taxpayers to help rebuild roads and infrastructure and a balanced budget.

He says the next governor of the state needs to have an economics background considering the situation the state is in, and his business sense qualifies him for the position.

Brady says the people of the state need to rally around a candidate like him who seeks to encapsulate Republican ideals and values.
