Republican Candidate for Governor Releases Taxes, Wants Others to Do the Same
One of the Republican candidates for governor is releasing his income tax forms, and insisting his rivals do the same.

Adam Andrzejewski of Hinsdale says it ought to be a law for all political candidates for all elected offices, even local ones, so that voters will know candidates' sources of income and whether there are any conflicts. But for now, Andrzejewski says the other five Republicans running for governor should release their tax forms.

He says Republicans, in order to win statewide in Illinois, must be the party of reform, and this is a way for the public to know who the real reform candidates are.

Andrzejewski has his 2008 filled-out forms posted at www.AdamforIllinois.com. He declared $289,034 in income, mostly from capital gains, dividends and interest. He recently sold a company that he and his brother started publishing Yellow Pages directories, and he is not currently employed in a wage-earning position. He paid $29,773 in federal tax and $14,403 in state income tax.

When publication of tax forms this became a requirement in Louisiana recently, more than 100 board and commission appointees resigned rather than comply.

Other candidates in the Republican primary for governor are DuPage County Board Chairman Robert Schillerstrom of Naperville, political commentator and strategist Dan Profft of Chicago, and State Sens. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington), Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) and Matt Murphy (R-Palatine).
