Quinn Delays Action on U of I Trustees Refusing to Resign
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn has again delayed taking any action against the two remaining University of Illinois trustees, who have refused to comply with Quinn's request that they resign.

Quinn first said he'd move last week to resolve the conflict with trustees Frances Carroll and James Montgomery over the admissions scandal at the school. He later said he'd act Monday.

But Quinn told reporters Sunday that he'll be at a military funeral in Romeoville on Monday and will instead act later in the week.

Quinn asked all nine university trustees to step down, following the recommendations of a panel he appointed to examine the influence of political clout on admissions at the university.

Seven have offered their resignations.

Montgomery and Carroll have said they won't resign because they've done nothing wrong.
