Police Investigate Bank Robbery Late Wednesday Morning
Galesburg police say a subject is on the lam after allegedly holding up a local bank late Wednesday morning.

Police say the robbery happened around 10:45 am at the West Main Street branch of Midwest Bank of Western Illinois.

Officers believe a male presented a teller a note demanded money. They say while a weapon wasn't believed to be displayed, one was likely inferred.

The man allegedly fled the scene on foot after taking an undetermined amount of money. Unconfirmed reports are that the man was lost around the Cedar Creek area.

He's described as a white male around 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and around 20 years of age, with brown curly hair. Authorities say he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, but neither a mask nor gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call Galesburg Police or Galesburg-Area Crimestoppers.
