McDonald's Robbery Could be Connected to Pawn Shop Burglary
Just after Galesburg police responded to burglary at McDonald's on East Main Street this morning, officers were also called to Main Street Pawn for a break in.

The window of the main door of the businesses had been broken out and an alarm system contacted police.

The owner of the business later showed up and noticed a knife, which is designed to look like an old style handgun was missing. Some silver necklaces and rings were also taken.

Police, according to reports, believe the burglary may have happened prior to the McDonald's robbery and it is likely the knife look-a-like was used in the robbery.

It was reported this morning that two black males entered in the door of the McDonald's as employees were showing up for work at about quarter to five this morning.

Employees believed one of the men was carrying a gun, but told officers it looked like an old western revolver and appeared somewhat fake.

The men are described as being in their early 20s, five-feet, 10-inches tall, with thin builds with braided hair, dark clothing, and masks.

The suspects did not get away with any money. Police have no one in custody, but the investigation continues.
