Brady Launches Ag Platform at State Fair
It's Agriculture Day at the Illinois State Fair, and one politician is using the designation to help him launch his ag platform.

State Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington), the Republican candidate for governor, says his plan for Illinois agriculture would help family farmers and agri-businesses. Brady wants to reduce the gasoline tax and inheritance tax, eliminate regulations for new ag-related businesses, and push bio-fuels.

But just how he'll pay for that is less detailed. Brady claims he can cut 10 percent out of state agencies' funding, yet he says he can't say exactly where because he doesn't know exactly where all the waste is. He says that problem will be solved by a comprehensive audit, which he can't order unless he's elected.
