Quinn to Pick Up Endorsement of Anti-Gun Group
CHICAGO (AP) -- A national antigun group is endorsing Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn in the November election.

Quinn's campaign office says he will pick up the backing of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence at a Tuesday event on Chicago's South Side.

The group was started by Jim Brady. He's the press secretary to former President Ronald Reagan who was shot and wounded by a gunman who tried to assassinate Reagan in 1981.

The group's president, Paul Helmke, is scheduled to attend Tuesday's event with Quinn.

Quinn is locked in a race for Illinois governor with Republican Bill Brady, a state senator from Bloomington, and the Green Party's Rich Whitney.
