Quinn Reacts to Verdict
Governor Pat Quinn says Tuesday's verdict in the Rod Blagojevich corruption trial represents a "sad day" in Illinois. While he's not talking about the 23 counts that will be retried, Quinn does say he has to respect the jury and trust that it did the right thing in finding Blagojevich guilty on one count: lying to the FBI.

As for the other counts, Quinn says he won’t speculate because that would be inappropriate given that the counts will go before another jury.

The governor was vague about why he supported Blagojevich during the 2006 campaign despite reports of multiple investigations. He did say that "people can be misled." Quinn did point out that Blagojevich's legal troubles prompted him to push for the recall amendment.
