Lawmakers Have Work to Do After Blago Verdict
A local politician says it's back to the drawing board for ethics reform in Illinois.

State Representative Don Moffitt says he believes former Governor Rod Blagojevich is guilty of more than the one count of lying to FBI agents that he was convicted for yesterday.

Moffitt tells WGIL something must be done to ensure this situation does not happen again.

"We need to look at what could have been done different, what additional laws could have prevented the abuses that appear to have happened here," Moffitt said.

Moffitt says he was initially surprised by the verdict in which the jury was deadlocked on 23 others charges, but he adds, he had a feeling things might not be going well for the prosecution when they ended their arguments so early.
