Quinn Wants 7 Debates With Brady -- None in Galesburg
CHICAGO (AP) -- Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn says he wants to debate Republican Bill Brady seven times.

Brady campaign spokeswoman Patty Schuh said Thursday she wasn't aware of this latest debate proposal from Quinn. Schuh said the two sides have met to discuss debates.

Quinn wants to debate the state senator from Bloomington in a series of debates between Sept. 29 and Oct. 28. The debates would be on the radio, TV and at locations in Chicago, Elmhurst and Carbondale.

The Quinn campaign says it's important to let voters know how he and Brady differ on the issues. The two are locked in a tight race for Illinois governor, a job Quinn inherited when Rod Blagojevich was removed from office.

The Green Party's Rich Whitney is also running.
