Meeting on U of I Extension Office Locations Tuesday Night in Monmouth
What could be the future of the soon-to-be-consolidated University of Illinois Extension office for Knox, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough Counties could have some light shed on it after a meeting scheduled for Tuesday night.

The Executive Advisory Committee of the U of I Extension is scheduled to hold a meeting in the auditorium of the Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau office in Monmouth.

A statement says the meeting will be held to "make recommendations on the location of the main and satellite office locations" for the newly-revamped Extension.

Extension is getting millions cut from its budget thanks to the ongoing state budget situation, and one of the ways leaders said they'd cope is through Extension office consolidation.

The meeting is open to the public; however, people who wanted to speak on the consolidation had until Monday to sign up.

The meeting will be held at 6pm Tuesday.

Knox County, up to now, was a stand-alone extension office, while Warren, Henderson, and Mercer Counties were already a consolidated unit.
