Quinn Appoints New Chief of Staff
Governor Pat Quinn has promoted the head of Human Services to serve as his chief of staff.

Michelle Saddler was tapped by Quinn to replace Jerry Stermer, who stepped down after he sent three campaign related emails from his state government email account.

"Michelle Saddler is one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated member of my cabinet and I look forward to having her serve as my chief of staff," Quinn said.

Saddler says she is up for the challenge.

"I look forward to continuing to serve and care for the people of Illinois as Governor Quinn's chief of staff," said Saddler.

Saddler was appointed by Quinn to be secretary of DHS in October 2009. She also had worked with Quinn when he serves as state treasurer. Current DHS Assistant Secretary Grace Hou will serves as DHS’s acting director.
