Grops Offer Money for Lincoln Museum Fieldtrips
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Officials say the deadline to apply for field trip grants to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield is approaching.

Two organizations are offering grants for schools and organizations that serve low income youth. The money will pay for transportation costs.

The organizations include the California based Winnick Family Foundation, which focuses on education, culture and issues affecting Jews, among other things.

The foundation says schools with more than 30 percent low income students are eligible for grades 4 to 12.

The other group is Midwest Generation, which is an Edison International Company. The deadline is September 1 and the winners will be announced in October.
