Second Property Tax Payments Due Thursday
The Knox County Treasurer's office says they'll be open late at least once next week as the second installment of the county's property taxes are due.

Treasurer Robin Davis says the deadline for paying that second installment is the close of business on Thursday.

But, Davis says her office will be open until 5:30 pm on Thursday only that week to make sure that everyone who wants to pay can.

Davis also says that the payment drop boxes on the courthouse grounds can still be used, but payments must be dropped off there before 8:30 am on Friday so they can be credited as being on time.

Real estate tax payments can also be mailed, but the must be postmarked no later than September second.

Knox County banks, as always, will also accept the payments, and they can also be made online through www.illinoisepay.com.
