BREAKING NEWS: Accident Kills Oneida Teen, Injures 3 Others
UPDATED 10:03am 8/31/10 A Knox County teenager is dead and three others are injured following a crash Monday night just east of Oneida.

Knox County Sheriff David Clague says the accident occurred just after 9pm Monday in the 2400 block of Knox Road 1240 East. They say a 1992 Ford F-350 pickup driven by a teenage driver who Clague isn't identifying, was headed south in a ditch on the west side, and lost control of the vehicle as it drove back on to a gravel road.

Clague says the vehicle then slid across the road and into a ditch on the east side, rolling twice and coming to rest on its roof in a soybean field.

One of the passengers, 17-year old Kevin Moore of rural Oneida, was transported by helicopter to a Peoria hospital, where Clague says he was pronounced dead about three hours later.

Clague says one of the remaining occupants was in a Galesburg hospital after suffering a broken hand, while two others were treated and released.

The driver and a passenger were from the LaFayette area, while the third was from the Oneida area.

Clague says only the driver was wearing a seat belt.

An investigation, he says, continues.

Moore was a senior at ROWVA High School. This is the second fatal accident involving a student from that class. The first, on Memorial Day of last year west of Altona, killed 16-year old Alex Roberts and injured another.
