Plenty New, Educational at IL State Fair
Illinois has had a state fair since 1853, but there are still new things to see.

One new attraction is "Farmer's Little Helper," billed as an educational, interactive display which teaches kids ages 4-10 about farming. They can see crops up close and take crops to a farmer's market.

The longstanding exhibit Conservation World has some new "sustainability" features. "I think the science has really caught up with the concept," says Department of Natural Resources deputy director Leslie Sgro. "Wind energy and solar (have for companies) become much more economical to put into place."

Speaking of sustainability, a "recycling education vehicle" will be touring the fairgrounds Aug. 18-19.

The fair runs Aug. 13-22. For more information, CLICK HERE.
