Bob Evans Plant in Galva to Close Down? PLANT EMPLOYEES, TELL WGIL YOUR STORY
UPDATED 2:26pm 8/6/10 Officials with an Ohio-based manufacturer of everything from sausage to macaroni and cheese are being tight-lipped about what will happen to a plant of theirs in Henry County.

A tipster who wished to remain anonymous called the WGIL Newsroom Thursday indicating that employees at the Bob Evans plant in Galva were told it was in its last week of production before a shutdown.

The caller said that a meeting was being called for Monday at 10 o'clock where the future of the plant would be announced.

Other sources have since told WGIL that employees are being told about the moves Friday. The plant in Galva employs under 100 people.

Bob Evans company spokesperson Francis Riggins told WGIL said that she had "no news to share," but that the company is evaluating all its facilities and is looking for "operating efficiencies."

She did say that the media would be contacted if some sort of an announcement were to be made.
