Charging for tree dump
There is no solution yet, but Knoxville city council members are looking for an answer.

The question is how to keep costs down at the city's tree dump.

The site has to be maintained regularly with workers pushing the tree limbs and such into a center where they can be burned.

It also helps ensure more trees don't grow up in the area.

But lately, contractors and others are disposing of trees at the dump and it is difficult for city workers to keep up.

It is possible people will have to pay to dispose of cut down trees at the dump in the future.

The measure was tabled at Monday nights city council meeting but they plan to return to the issue at the next meeting.
