Galesburg Man Accused of Rural Home Invasion
A Galesburg man is accused of breaking into the Rio home of a woman authorities say he had a relationship with at one time.

The Knox County Sheriffs Department says deputies were called to a report of a battery late Tuesday night at an unidentified residence in Rio.

They say a man later identified as 25-year old Bradley Nelson allegedly entered the home uninvited, and assaulted the male and female inside.

Ages and other information on them weren't made available either, but authorities say one of the victims was somehow able to leave the residence and call 911, but not before Nelson allegedly made off with a purse.

Nelson was later located at his home on Indiana Avenue in Galesburg, and a permitted search of his car turned up the purse.

Nelson was arrested on charges of Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery, Home Invasion, and Theft.

He's being held in the Knox County Jail. And Sheriffs officials say an investigation continues.

The two victims were treated at a local hospital after initially refusing treatment.
