Dental Expansion Hits Speed Bump
Dental numbers and quotes are still in negotiations with the Knox County Health Department and their dental companies.

Public Health Administrator Heidi Britton says the specifics were close to being finalized until a new vision was expressed by the Dental Team.

But she feels it is only a minor setback in going ahead with $100,000 dental expansion plan.

"We got one more quote back, we got our quote back for the software, and so our next step is to create a budget from this," Britton says. "We have our $100,000 already for the dental expansion, I just need to put the new numbers in and see whats going to be left over from the construction and everything so it's moving right along. We are going to go ahead with the bidding process for the construction. I am anticipitating that to be in September or October."

The dental expansion calls for minimal construction and the addition of more dental chairs.

Britton tells WGIL visits to the dentist were up in July, especially with adults.

She says 22 new adults paid dental visits last month, mostly because a dentist seeing adults-only on Fridays.
