Broken Bikes May be Donated at Illinois State Fair
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois state officials will host a bicycle collection drive at the Illinois State Fair for people in need.

The Department of Natural Resources will accept bikes at Conservation World on the state fairgrounds.

The two-wheelers will be used by the Working Bikes Cooperative. It's a not-for-profit organization that repairs bikes and sells them. It uses the money to send bicycles to Illinois organizations and places such as Ghana, Tanzania, Angola, Guatemala and Peru.

The organization gives away more than 5,000 bikes each year.

Working Bikes Cooperative will promote the recycling program at the ``Leave No Child Inside'' tent at Conservation World through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
