Galesburg Represented at Town Hall Meeting
One Galesburg resident who will likely tell you she doesn't always agree with everything President Obama does or says got the chance to ask him a question during his town hall meeting in Alpha Wednesday.

"What I'd like to hear is maybe just your philosophy from your administration, ways to expound upon what your wife is doing and encouraging positive incentives, to encourage people to eat healthy, to live healthy, especially for our school children."

That's Galesburg-Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Judy Guenseth. Obama told her that he'd like to see more produce consumed, and he'd like to see farmers be better able to get produce directly to consumers.

The two also talked about tourism some.

"America as a whole needs to do a better job of promoting tourism," President Obama says. "Because it used to be, we just took for granted people wanted to come here, now countries all around the world are promoting their countries, we want tourism dollars to come here."

Obama says he's set up a tourism council to look at ways of improving that.

Guenseth says, by the way, that despite what some have heard and alleged, her question to the president was not screened in advance.
