Crack Cocaine Bust in Galesburg
A Chicago man and Galesburg woman are both in police custody after a traffic stop leads to a suspected crack cocaine discovery.

Galesburg Police reports indicate 22 year old Marcus Pryor was arrested Wednesday night and charged with four driving related counts, including driving on a suspended license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

But the traffic stop was initiated because Galesburg Police received a tip from the Multi-County Enforcement Group that passenger and 56 year old Marie Churn possessed a large amount of cash and crack cocaine.

Turns out Pryor was believed to be in possession of over $8500 dollars in cash, which was later confiscated.

A search warrant for Churn's apartment later led to the alleged discovery of crack cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.

Police say Churn admitted that her and Pryor would often smoke crack cocaine,

Churn told police she would often let Pryor stay the night and use her mother's vehicle in exchange for crack cocaine, and that she would save as much as she could from her disability fund to front Pryor cash to travel to Chicago by Amtrak to buy powder cocaine.

Court appearances are pending for both.
