One Man Is Dead After Afternoon Crash
A driver of a 1993 Chevrolet Camaro is dead after being struck by a pickup after turning northbound onto US 150 outside Rio Tuesday afternoon.

The Knox County Coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

State Troopers have so far not publicly identified the victim.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:40 Tuesday afternoon when the driver of the Camaro turned northbound onto US 150 from 2900 North.

A blue Ford Pickup was traveling southbound when it struck the driver's side of the Camaro as it entered the highway.

The driver of the pickup was transported to St Mary's Hospital in Galesburg for what the Illinois State Police describe as minor injuries.

Police are not releasing the driver of the pickup's name either, and no citations have been issued at this time. The Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Officers will continue their investigation.
