Warren and Henderson Counties Teaming Up With Knox For Drug Court
Not much should change for the Knox County Drug Court after the board approved a merge with Warren and Henderson Counties Wednesday night.

Assistant State's Attorney Erik Gibson says the circuit will benefit more than an individual county. He tells WGIL nothing structurally will change in Knox.

"The probation officer will just stay in Knox County as opposed to having to travel the circuit, and same thing with the judge," he says. "Originally what was going to be comtemplated was using the same judge but making the judge travel. Instead we will keep the judge here, everything will be centered here. As far as the Knox County citizens are concerned this won't have any bearing as far as economically for them but will be beneficial for Warren and Henderson because they won't have to put up much cost wise."

At Monday's meeting Board Chairman Greg Bacon was approved to step in as the new Finance Committee Chairman for the retired Wayne Saline.

He says he will hold both positions at least until the next election.

Bacon also planned a new voluntary bill review meeting for the board to take place on the Monday before every scheduled county board meeting.

He tells WGIL this will end some member's complaints and give the board an opportunity to view the bills in detail.
