Inmate Dies at Henry County Jail
The Illinois State Police has taken over an investigation into a death at the Henry County Jail in Cambridge.

State Police Master Sergeant Chris Endress says an inmate -- 22-year old Levi Ingram of Kewanee -- died Monday not long after he returned to his cell from a court hearing.

Endress says jail staff and emergency responders were unable to revive Ingram. He was pronounced dead at 3:45 Monday afternoon at a Geneseo hospital.

Ingram, officials say, has been in jail since just August 19th. Henry County Circuit Court records indicate Ingram was awaiting trial on charges of Theft, Burglary, and Criminal Damage to Property. He also faced his probation being revoked on a 2009 conviction for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and Resisting a Peace Officer.

Endress says an autopsy on Ingram will be conducted Wednesday in Peoria.
