Quinn Attends 2 Illinois Ground Breakings
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn spent time in Rock Island and Rockford, where he broke ground on two different construction projects that will create about 525 jobs.

Quinn on Tuesday attended the ground breaking in Rock Island for a $34 million MetroLINK Transit Maintenance Facility. The new facility will house the agency's administrative and maintenance operations. Officials estimate it will create about 125 construction jobs. The new building is needed because the current facility doesn't have enough room.

The governor also was in Rockford, where he kicked off construction on a $37 million bridge replacement project. Quinn's office says the project should create 400 construction jobs. The bridge was built in 1890 and last renovated in 1960.
