Man Accused of Prison Assault Back in Court
The Chicago-area man accused of sexually assaulting a local prison inmate will be back in court late next month.

Records indicate 59-year old Robert Gorham made his first appearance in Knox County Circuit Court Monday while accompanied by a public defender. In this case, Kim Norton was appointed last week.

Gorham was recently charged by a grand jury with a Class-X felony count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault.

Court documents state Gorham allegedly displayed a sharp metal object and sexually assaulted a then-fellow inmate at the Henry Hill Correctional Center in late-January of this year.

Gorham has since been sent to the Menard Correctional Center, where he continues to serve 200 years in prison for a 1975 murder.

Gorham will next be in court for an arraignment hearing September 28th.
