Capitol Projects Part of City Council Work Session
The Galesburg City Council will get back into budget planning with a work session planned for Monday night.

Aldermen will hold a work session on capital projects prior to their regular meeting Monday evening.

Aldermen have long said they wanted to provide feedback about what road, sidewalk, and other public works improvements they want to city to tackle before they're brought to the council for approval.

City officials say they will give aldermen the chance to do just that Monday.

Aldermen will also consider a proposal sub-dividing the land that the new Kohl's store will be built on, along with some other minor details. Construction on the new store isn't going to begin, however, until next spring.

The City Council will also hear about another agreement related to the construction of the West Main Street overpass, and they'll also review the audit of the 2010 financial year, when the Galesburg City Council meets at 6:30 tonight at City Hall.

The capital project work session begins at 5:30 PM Monday.
