Galesburg Man Gets Prison Time on Meth Charges
A Galesburg man will spend the better part of three-decades in prison on both federal and state methamphetamine-related charges.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 38-year old Steven Morgan was sentenced Thursday to 18-years in prison on charges including Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Meth Precursors, Possession of Meth-Manufacturing Materials, and Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver.

Morgan was convicted back in February at a bench trial. A search in 2009 of a hotel room at the America's Best Value Inn resulted meth, fuel tanks, batteries, and other items used in meth production were found.

Just a few weeks ago, Morgan was sentenced in a federal court room according to federal documents to 14 years in prison to a count of Distribution of Methamphetamine.

He was accused of bring crystal meth to this area from the State of Nevada.

Judges in both cases okayed the sentences being served consecutively, meaning Morgan could spend the better part of 32 years in prison for the crime.

Knox County prosecutors say the case is a great example of state and federal officials working together.
