Police Arrest Man for Drugs in Car
Galesburg police say they have a man in custody that had suspected marijuana in a car he was riding in.

Police reports indicate officers were on patrol in the area of Dayton and Seminary Streets around 12:30 Tuesday morning when they thought they smelled cannabis coming from a car stopped there. The car was later located in the 1400 block of North Seminary. A passenger in the car confessed to police that he was smoking in the car, and that he had more.

A search of the car turned up some burnt cannabis, but inside a bag was 19 more small bags of pot.

26-year old Aaron Cochran was arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis and Possession with Intent to Deliver and was taken to the Knox County Jail.

Meantime, on Monday, police let a Florida man off with a lesser charge after he cooperated with them regarding drugs he had on him while getting off an Amtrak train.

Officers say 48-year old David Trello was stepping off the California Zephyr during the noon hour, and officers found cannabis on him, and in a first aid kid.

Trello, however, is only being charged with Possession of two-and-a-half to 10 grams of Cannabis and was given a notice to appear in court.
